Snowman Perspective Art Project

You can find a full instructional video here. Thanks to the creator for the helpful video!

The one in the video is square, but I’ve done it on rectangular paper and it works just fine, no need to cut special paper.

Time required: 60 minutes

Materials:

- White cardstock

- Sharpie

- Pencil & eraser

- Pencil crayons

- Washable markers

- Paint brush & water cup

- Salt

Steps:

  1. Draw a curve in each corner.

  2. Add a round head on top of each body curve.

  3. Add details like eyes, nose, hat, arms, scarf etc.

  4. For the buttons, you can make them larger near the edges and smaller near the head to show persepctive.

  5. Once happy with the design, trace all lines with a Sharpie.

*must be permanent marker, not just a black marker as we will be wetting the paper and don’t want a black washable marker to run

  6. Erase pencil lines and colour snowmen and accessories. Use grey to add shading to the white snowmen.

  7. Use washable markers to doodle in the background.

  8. Use a paint brush dipped in water to go over the background area.

  9. While still wet, sprinkle salt over the background and let dry.

  10. Once completely dry, brush off the salt.
