Goofy Picasso Frankenstein Art Project
These are always such a funny display and my students love this “it’s not meant to be perfect” project.
Inspired by Pablo Picasso, there is so much freedom and creativity in this project.
Made a mistake? Oh well, it adds some character.
Timeline: 45-60 minutes
Materials:
Purple construction paper
Green construction paper (two shades)
Black construction paper
White paper (printer paper is fine)
Thin tipped black marker
Scissors
Glue
Procedure:
This project is supposed to be goofy, there is no right or wrong way to shape any of the features so let their creativity shine!
Stack the two green sheets on top of each other.
On the top one, draw a boxy shaped head.
Holding both pieces together, cut out the head (you’ll end up with two identical shapes).
Choose one of the green sheets and cut it in half with a wavy line.
Glue one of the smaller green sides to the other green full head.
Cut a bit of either green for the neck.
Glue the head pieces and the neck to the purple background.
Use the black construction paper to cut out shaggy hair, bolts, mouth, eyebrows and pupil.
Use the white construction paper for the eyes and teeth.
Glue all the facial features onto the head.
Lastly, using a fine tipped black marker (thin Sharpie works great), add stitches on the head and/or neck.
