Positive & Negative Space Hearts: Valentine’s Day Art Project

Time required: 40-60 minutes

Materials:

• Black construction paper

• Half sheet other colour construction paper

• Scissors

• Pencil

• Glue stick

• Pastels, crayons, markers etc.

Steps:

1. Fold the coloured construction paper in half, cut apart.

2. Fold each side and cut out a heart. Repeat with the second side.

3. Glue the negative space pieces onto the black construction paper, one in each corner.

4. Glue the positive space hearts into the other two quarters of the black background.

5. Add more designs using pastels, crayons, markers etc.
