Pepper Chase Science Experiment
This is a physics experiment that uses surface tension.
Materials:
1 pie plate
Liquid dish soap
Pepper
Sugar
1⁄4 tsp measuring spoon
Procedure:
Fill the pie plate half full of water.
Sprinkle 1⁄4 tsp pepper on the surface of the water. Don’t mix it in. What happens to the pepper?
Dab some liquid dish soap on the end of your finger and place your finger in the water. What happens to the pepper?
Now sprinkle 1⁄4 tsp sugar on the water. What happens to the sugar and water now?
